We have launched the section’s new website

Welcome to the new website

We built the website for two groups. For those who are currently only reading about variable stars, it offers a “Getting Started” page (which contains information on what is needed for observation, where to learn, and who to contact). More experienced observers will find an overview of the section’s observation programs, a link to the VarAstro database including the ETD project, and the ROST telescope reservation system.

The website will continue to grow. We will gradually add more technical texts, visual documentation, and observation stories. We welcome your feedback; please contact us.

We thank everyone who participated in the preparation of the website.

In the background, the old website, which served its purpose excellently until 2024. In the foreground, the homepage of the new website, which will now be “only” a community site, while the already launched VarAstro database website will remain independent.
