We attended a major meeting of the CAS sections
A major meeting of the CAS sections took place this weekend at Techmania in Pilsen.
Section representatives participated in virtually the entire major meeting of the Czech Astronomical Society’s sections. They learned new information about activities within individual sections and branches. The newly appointed Vice-Chair, Katka Hoňková, gave a presentation on the latest developments regarding our section’s ROST telescope. The lecture was a huge success, not only due to the progress and results of “ROST” itself but primarily because of the very ambitious conclusion regarding the section’s as-yet-nonexistent strategic plan. We will report on this in detail at the next section meeting. Finally, our current Chairman, Zbyněk Henzl, presented the progress of work on the CAS site in Záhořany.
The section’s extended board spent part of Saturday’s social evening in the beautiful setting of the “Techmania” tellurium (see photo), working on updating and planning the completion of the section’s community website.
